Huawei veto, China warns US against trade relations

"We urge the United States to end its wrong actions […] to not further damage the economic and trade relations between China and the United States, "said the spokesman of the Ministry of Commerce, Gao Feng, at a press conference.

Gao said he was against unilateral action against any Chinese entity and that the government would take steps to "safeguard the legitimate interests of our companies".

US President Donald Trump on Wednesday banned companies in his country from using telecommunications equipment from foreign companies deemed unsafe for national security, a measure that includes Huawei.
