Huge illegal electronic music party kills one, five hospitalizations, COVID-19 infections and reports of rape in Italy

The thousands of young people from various European countries who participated in a “rave” (electronic music festival) illegally set up in a private space on the shores of Lake Mezzano, in the Lazio region (central Italy), began to leave the area on Wednesday evening after the controversy over the event and the death of a participant.

The controversy intensified following the death of a 25-year-old Italian-English boy, whose body was found by divers in the lake, where his friends claimed he entered during the night, according to police sources.

Despite his death, the party didn’t stop and up to five of its attendees were hospitalized for alcoholic commas and drug use.

In addition, according to the newspaper The Republic, there have been until three reports of rapes and dogs that died from heat and hunger were observed.
