IMF backs US proposal to create global corporate tax

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Tuesday welcomed the United States’ proposal to create a global tax “by at least” 15% on corporate income and stressed that this mechanism would allow governments to invest more in essential areas such as education, health and infrastructure.
