IMF Board of Directors to appoint Georgieva to replace Lagarde | Chronic

The IMF's board of directors revealed Monday that it would consider appointing Kristalina Georgieva for the post of Director General replacing French Christine Lagarde, in a process that would last until October 4.

The date of appointment of a new general manager is relevant to Argentina pending the approval of a new disbursement of the program established with the agency for 5 , $ 4 billion.

In principle, cash flow was expected in September, although nothing has been done in this direction in the calendar of the board of the multilateral financial entity.

According to the IMF's board of directors, "The period for nominations for the post of new Director General has been closed on Friday 6 September".

"Candidate Kristalina Georgieva, currently World Bank Executive Director and Bulgarian citizen, has confirmed her willingness to be considered a candidate"revealed body.

Consequently, "The council will now proceed according to the process described in the decision of 26 July, including by organizing meetings between the candidate and the administrators"they expressed.
