“There is a lack of vaccines, drugs, health professionals, spaces to bury the dead”, they stressed.

The Society for Analytical Psychology is an international association based in Great Britain that is related to therapy founded by Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung, a disciple of Sigmund Freud.

“Brazilian citizens see, astonished, a genocide, witnessed with coldness, disdain and even sarcasm by Jair Bolsonaro and his government”, denounce the signatories of the text, psychology professionals who for three days, from Friday April 9 to Sunday 11, participated in the Latin American Conference of the Society of Analytical Psychology held in Brazil.

This activity was scheduled for 2020 in São Paulo, but the pandemic and its impact on Brazil forced it to be postponed until April 2021, and in the end it was carried out with a remote intervention, by videoconference, exhibitors and registered.

Most of the psychologists who participated are from the Brazilian Society of Analytical Psychology (SBrPA), the Jungian Association of Brazil (AJB) and the Latin American Commission for Analytical Psychology (CLAPA), three entities that bring together psychologists. and psychiatrists in the most populous countries of South America.

“Over the past year, as staying at home and keeping the distance has become in Brazil the political significance of opposition to the government, we have been urged to hear helplessly the absurd and perverse statements of the genocidal captain (for Bolsonaro), invariably tilted by high-ranking military personnel “, the signatories of the document interviewed.

And they also pointed out that due to the pandemic, “the extreme fear of paroxysm, anxiety and depression are generalized and appear daily” in consultations with patients, a generalized picture which, they warned, overlaps with “the intensification of the economic crisis”, the increase in unemployment and misery, plus “a sorry scenario” made up of “the streets of Brazil filled of people in precarious situations “.

In another paragraph, medical professionals pointed out that “the Bolsonaro government’s most abject action has been its insistent refusal to purchase Covid-19 vaccines, while importing and authorizing the acquisition of weapons to be used by his supporters ”.

“Brazil is suffocated! There is genocide going on!” concluded the more than one hundred signatories before asking the international community and psychologists around the world who practice analytical therapy according to Jung’s guidelines, to reproduce the complaints and disseminate them in each of their countries.
