Darius, the world’s largest rabbit, was stolen from his home in Worcestershire, England. West Mercia police said the animal was removed from its cage in the property’s garden overnight last Saturday.
Annette Edwards, The owner of Darius, took to social media to ask those who took him to “please bring him back”, and offered a reward of over a thousand dollars for the return of your pet.
“Every animal is an individual that cannot be replaced,” said Edwards, a 68-year-old former Playboy model, adding that Darius follows a special diet without which he can die.
When asked if she suspected anyone was responsible for the theft, Edwards said: “There are some very jealous people here. I have my suspicions who is behind this. I’m afraid it’s someone who has prior knowledge ”.
Likewise, the woman gave details of how the theft would have been: “The thieves passed by a farm, unscrewed Darius’ cage, and removed him from his safe zone.. They knew what they were doing. It was stolen on demand, ”he said.
The authorities on Tuesday launched an appeal for citizen collaboration to find Darius, a 129 cm long continental rabbit who was awarded the Guinness World Record in 2010 to be the biggest of its kind.
