Indonesia has ended the tsunami warning after the earthquake of 6.9

Indonesian authorities withdrew this Friday the tsunami warning issued just hours earlier following an earthquake of magnitude 6.9 on the Richter scale, according to the estimate from the United States Geological Institute (USGS).

The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) has indicated via its Twitter account that "tsunami early warning has been withdrawn".

The authorities had previously ordered a population of the island of Java to move away from the coast due to the possibility of a tsunami following the earthquake that occurred near the strait that separates the island. island of Sumatra.

For its part, the Indonesian Meteorological and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) increased the magnitude of the earthquake to 7.4. For the moment, there is no evidence of personal or material damage resulting from this earthquake.
