Inpres indicated where the last two earthquakes were felt

Two earthquakes were recorded between Friday night and this morning in Mendoza. The first occurred last night at 23:51, with an epicenter located 94 km northeast of Mendoza and 92 km southeast of San Juan, equidistant from the two cities of Cuyan. Its magnitude was 3.5 degrees on the Richter scale and, according to information provided by the National Institute of Seismic Prevention (Inpres) measured with the modified Mercalli scale which calculates its intensity, the sensory consequences were identical San Juan and in the city of Mendoza: it was from II to III Mercalli, "Sense slightly by some people at rest or in buildings, without damage".

As you will inform MDZ This morning, the Saturday earthquake was recorded at 05:55, with an epicenter located 44 kilometers east of the capital and 19 kilometers south of the Costa de Araujo. The magnitude was 3.3 degrees on the Richter scale and the epicenter was located at a depth of 15 kilometers, considered "superficial" in seismological terminology.

With regard to intensity, Inpres reported the following:

• Costa de Araujo, Lavalle: III degrees in the modified Mercalli scale. It is perceived by some people at rest. No damage
• San Martín and the city of Mendoza: II to II degrees on the modified Mercalli scale. Sense slightly by some people at rest or in buildings. No damage
