According to a study on happiness conducted in 2016 between the Aruba Tourism Authority (ATA) and the Rosen Hospitality Management College of the University of Central Florida, Aruba Happy Island is not only "the happiest island in the world compared to its size".

The results indicate that 78% of the population is happy, while 76% express long – term satisfaction with their lives. Following the 2016 World Happiness Report, which measures the index in 157 larger countries through a similar survey methodology, Aruba's results are superior to those of the first place in this report (Denmark with 75%).
