International flights: the government has set the daily entry quota into the country for the rest of the year and will be subject to the vaccination percentage

After confirming that from this Friday foreign tourists from neighboring countries can enter Argentina, the government has set the daily quota of flights that can arrive, which will increase in stages until it disappears completely, depending on the percentage of vaccination.

As reported by national authorities through an administrative decision to be published in the Official Journal, Between October 1 and 3, both inclusive, “2,300 daily passenger seats” will be activated, while between October 4 and 10, there will be 21,000 seats per week.

As, from October 11 and up to 14 days after the threshold of 50% of the Argentine population with full vaccination is reached, “28,000 weekly passenger seats” will be authorized. Once the national health ministry announces that 50 percent coverage has already been reached, “No quota of any kind will be applied.”

In this context, it was also specified that the airports will carry out “The measures necessary to ensure the performance of health tests and controls on arrival of flights, respecting the actual time required to read these laboratory tests, expanding – if deemed necessary – the capacity “mentioned.

On the other hand, the document specified that inside the aforementioned places, a weekly total of 700 passengers “may be prioritized by the national state for reasons of urgency or to attend to essential issues that cannot be postponed or official or diplomatic representation., in order to facilitate their travel in the country on the same airlines that had contracted their tickets for the Argentine Republic ”.

For this, the national authorities, “will examine the requests, which must contain documentation proving the causes justifying their possible prioritization”, and will forward them to the National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC) so that “the corresponding airlines are notified”.

However, it was clarified that “if such requests are made aware of the existence of one or more suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19”, immediate intervention will be given to the health zone to “comply with applicable regulations “.
