The Iranian parliament announced on Sunday that it had drafted a bill to include the US military in the list of terrorist groups if Washington adopted, as supposed, a similar measure.

Friday, the newspaper Wall Street Journal, citing US officials, reported that the administration of President Donald Trump had the intention to name a terrorist group to the Iranian revolutionary guard, a military elite corps of the Iranian regime.
Washington has imposed sanctions in recent years on dozens of entities and individuals affiliated with the Guardians, but would be the first time that designates a terrorist group to the army of another country.
Therefore, the chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Iranian Parliament stressed that they would apply "reciprocity" if necessary. Falahatpisheh also defended the Guardians, stressing that they had "a great role in the fight against terrorism," after sending military advisers to Syria and Iraq.
The Revolutionary Guard, created after the triumph of the Islamic revolution of 1979 to protect the new theocratic system, is the most powerful Iranian military organization and controls the vast economic sectors of the country.
