Israel attacked Hamas positions in response to the terrorist fire of its border troops

Israel announced Friday that it fired tanks and planes on various Hamas positions, a terrorist group in power in the Gaza Strip, in response to gunshots fired from the Palestinian enclave against Israeli troops at the border.

In a statement, the Israeli army said that there was no injury.

Palestinian security sources in Gaza told AFP that Israeli gunfire reached the extremist group's military observation posts at three places at the border.

These same sources indicated that no casualties had been recorded on the Palestinian side.

"An IDF plane and tank attacked two military positions belonging to the Hamas terrorist group in the Gaza Strip in response to a recent shot at troops near the security fence," the FDI reported.

The incident occurred as troops were ready to enlist every week in the border region, where hundreds of Palestinians were coming to demonstrate against the Israeli authorities.

The Israeli army, however, did not specify in its statement whether the events took place at the same time as the demonstrations in Gaza, which take place almost every Friday for more than a year.

The health minister in Gaza said 15 people, including two paramedics and "a journalist", were injured Friday by gunfire at border demonstrations, without giving further details.

This new exchange took place amid the efforts of Hamas and Israel to achieve a ceasefire.

According to the slogan Israel weatherthousands of Palestinians demonstrated on Friday. Riots took place along the border in the enclave, during which demonstrators threw stones and explosive devices at the soldiers.

The government of Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly reiterated who blames Hamas for any attack or disruption it comes from the Gaza Strip.

For its part, the Israeli army announced Friday that it had destroyed two apartments belonging to the family of a Palestinian accused of killing an Israeli last February. Israeli soldiers surrounded the building where the Arafat Irfaiya family's apartments are located in Hebron, in the occupied West Bank, at night.

With the help of construction machinery, they destroyed both apartments. Riots erupted between Israeli and Palestinian forces on the scene.

The body of Ori Ansbacher, aged 19, was found on February 7, south of Jerusalem, in an area on the border of the West Bank. Arafat Irfaiya, arrested soon after, admitted to having killed her for "nationalistic reasons", that is, for political reasons related to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, said Shin Beth, the internal security service Israeli.
