Italy: despite the rise in infections, schools will still reopen

Despite the recent increase in infections of covid19, the government of Italy announced today that next Thursday the face-to-face classes In schools at half the usual capacity.

Every day you can go to school 50% of students and others must take the courses remotely, in order to ensure safe education despite the virus, according to Minister of the Interior.

The functioning of schools is controversial in Italy since the declaration pandemic and educational institutions were completely closed.

Schools reopened in September, then authorities limited student attendance in classrooms to 75% of capacity, but they suspended face-to-face classes again due to second wave of infections.

Since the start of the pandemic, Italy has already added 2,129,376 confirmed cases of coronavirus (22,211 in the last 24 hours), of which 574,767 people had the active infection (4,871 more than yesterday) and 74,621 deaths (462 on the last day).
