It's a record: Trump has exceeded 10,000 lies since taking office

US President Donald Trump has crossed the threshold of 10,000 lies, the Washington Post revealed on the basis of its database Fact Checker, a university organization gathering data disseminated by several universities.

The president had reached 5,000 people after the first 601 days, with an average of eight false or distorted statements per day.

But 226 days later, the tycoon exceeded 10,000, with an average of 23 lies per day in the last seven months, adds the unique report reproduced by the Ansa news agency.

The goal seemed unlikely, the Washington Post said, when Trump's verification project was launched: in the first 100 days, the president had an average of less than five lies a day, a figure that maximum of about 7,000 lies in the four years of mandate that end in January 2021.

He stated that he had "nothing to hide" about the investigation into the Russian conspiracy, but that he actually refused to testify under oath.
