A team of archaeologists has discovered at least 20 sarcophagi very well preserved in an ancient grave near the city of Luxor, in southern Egypt, announced the Ministry of Antiquities of that country.

Wooden coffins were found in the Asasif necropolis, located on the west bank of the Nile, part of the ancient city of Thebes, whose ruins are in Luxor. The sarcophagi were arranged on two levels, in the middle of a tomb, in the manner that "the ancient Egyptians left them".
