Guaidó arrived in Brasilia this morning, coming from Bogota, aboard a Colombian air force plane, after leaving his country by land for Colombia last Friday.

His departure challenged a ban on leaving the country dictated by justice, which justified this decision as part of an investigation related to his proclamation as interim president on Jan. 23.

In Colombia, he led the mobilizations that attempted Saturday to bring to Venezuela the humanitarian aid provided by several countries and collected in the city of Cucuta, which failed in the midst of serious incidents due to the closure of borders ordered by Maduro.

The same thing happened at the border with Brazil, where 200 tons of food and medicine offered by the Bolsonaro government and the United States were blocked.

Representatives of Guaidó in Brazil have not yet specified how long he will stay in the country or whether he plans to return from the Brazilian capital to Caracas.

Although Guaidó himself announced his intention to return to his country this week, the National Assembly has allowed him to leave Venezuela for a period of more than five days. His trip could therefore be extended and include visits to other South American leaders. .

Brazil is a member of the Lima group, a forum of American countries calling for the exit of Maduro and held a meeting in Bogotá on Monday in the presence of Guaidó, in which he pledged to continue working at the "new democratization" of Venezuela.

This platform also rejected the possibility of military intervention in Venezuela and reiterated its demand to hold "free" elections in the country, under the control of the international community.
