Jair Bolsonaro to be transferred to San Pablo for possible bowel surgery

The President of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, you will be transferred from Brasilia to São Paulo to assess whether to undergo “emergency” surgery for “bowel obstruction,” official sources reported on Wednesday.

Bolsonaro was admitted at dawn to the Armed Forces Hospital in Brasilia with abdominal pain and after suffering repeated hiccups over the past few days.

As the Minister of Communications, Fabio Faria reported, the president will now be transferred to a hospital in São Paulo, where he will be evaluated if he will have another abdominal operation.

The presidency had initially informed that Bolsonaro would be subject to reviews in Brasilia and would remain in “under observation between 24 and 48 hours, not necessarily inside the hospital.

However, then the intestinal obstruction was checked and the possibility of a new operation, which, according to Minister Faria, would be a consequence of the attack he suffered in 2018, in the midst of the electoral campaign that brought him to power, when he was stabbed in abdomen by a person.

Symptoms

Since Thursday of last week, when he did his usual live show on social media, Bolsonaro highlighted hiccups that afflicted him and in his subsequent public interventions he continued with the symptoms.

In September last year, the 66-year-old president underwent surgery in São Paulo to remove a kidney stone.

Over the past three years, underwent five operations, including four following the attack he suffered in 2018.

Bolsonaro was stabbed while being carried on the shoulders of a crowd during a campaign rally in the town of Juiz de Fora, in the state of Minas Gerais.

The attacker was arrested immediately after the attack, but he was declared unassailablee, since the judge felt that he was unable to answer for his actions because of his mental problems.
