Giants cornerback Janoris Jenkins went on social media on Thursday, posting a statement about Roosevelt Rene's body, aka Tryps Beats, found dead at Jenkins' home on June 26.

William H. Jenkins, Jenkins's brother was accused of aggravated homicide in Rene's death. After the Giants' mini-camp, Jenkins returned home to Florida where he was at the time of René's death.

René was found dead in the basement of Jenkins' house at Fair Lawn, following a "physical altercation" with William H. Jenkins, who has a long rap sheet, which includes seven previous arrests.

Sergeant Brian Metzler said the police were called home at 10:22 am and members of the Bergen County Attorney's Office and the Office of the Attorney General sheriff of Bergen County were on the scene.

A neighbor at the scene, who identified himself only as Debbie, said Jenkins lives at home with his brother. She said that she had never had any problems with any of them and was shocked when she heard that the body had been found at home.

Jenkins, elected to his first Pro Bowl in 2016, is a key member of Giants High School. However, Jenkins has just suffered an ankle injury that ended last week against the University of Washington last year. Despite the injury that cut short his season, Jenkins intercepted three pbades and returned two for touchdowns, in addition to making 31 tackles.
