The candidate for the national deputation of “La Libertad Avanza” Javier milei demanded this Wednesday the former Minister of the Economy, Domingo cavallo, and argued that he has an “almost natural alignment” with the former US President Donald trump and with the current one in Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro.
“The leadership of Domingo Cavallo at the head of the Ministry of the Economy was the best of all history ”, the libertarian referent said in radio statements. In this regard, he confirmed that he maintained “Frequent dialogues” with the former manager of Menemista and Alianza as well as with another former chef of the Palacio de Hacienda in the 1990s, Roque Fernández.
In addition, the candidate for the post of legislator defended the privatization process of SOEs of the 90s and pointed out that “everyone takes hold of Menem but forgets the progressive experience of the Alliance, where they were (Fernando) De la Rúa, (Carlos) ‘Chacho’ Álvarez, (Raúl ) Alfonsín and the whole left wing of radicalism ”.
In turn, in his first interview with an international media, in that case or balloon, from Brazil, Milei asserted that “my alignment with Trump and Bolsonaro is almost natural.”
“All those who were against socialism or communism are on my side”, The leader pointed out when asked if his project had any points of contact with that of Trump and Bolsonaro.
And he added, “This is my guiding principle, so we can have any differences you want. In this group we have liberals, libertarians, center people, conservatives, center-right people, but the limit is that no one crosses the line of social democracy and all the expressions more to the left ”.
Regarding regional policy, Milei considered that Bolsonaro “initiated a good management” by placing a “prestigious economist from the University of Chicago” at the head of the Department of the Economy, as Paulo Guedès.
Later, he praised the Brazilian president again: “It seemed very good to me because, from the first day, Bolsonaro decided facing left ”.
The liberal economist obtained more than 13% votes in PASO on September 12, a figure that was not expected in previous elections.
On the possibility of establishing political alliances, the candidate of La Libertad Avanza said he was open to “working with the liberals, with the libertarians, with the conservatives, with the right, with the menemists and with the hawks of Ensemble pour le changer”. In this sense, he even admitted that he was “willing to forge links with the non-collectivist Peronism ”.
Milei also assured that “I can’t have anything with the pigeons because they are social democrats, I cannot have anything with the UCR because they are the Socialist International, I cannot have anything with the Civic Coalition because they are more socialist than the radicals and I can’t have anything with the Frente de Todos because they are on the left “.
