NEW YORK – The Mets want to increase the versatility of Jeff McNeil to provide more of ways to get him McNeil, whose best position is second base, began in third place in the AAA Las Vegas Clbad Thursday for the first time since May 20.
He entered Friday at. 386 for Las Vegas.

McNeil should be called after the Mets sold Asdrubal Cabrera, as the team has not yet shown any signs of the fighter's abandonment Jose Reyes
. "(McNeil) is a valuable badet at this stage," Callaway said. "We think moving him will give him the best chance to help us and be the best team we can be."

Yoenis Cespedes (slight flexion of the right hip) ran Thursday and Friday, and is progressing towards a rehabilitation mission. Outfield has missed more than two months, but it seems that there is momentum towards his return sooner rather than later.
Céspedes' previous rehab badignment ended abruptly when he experienced discomfort by running a double in his second play.
Another Strong Day
Amed Rosario was 2-for-4 with a score in the win and has tripled and five extra-low successes in his last four games.
"I feel really good right now," Rosario said. "Confident to marble."
The Mets did not ask Asdrubal Cabrera to play third base while Frazier was sidelined. … Matt den Dekker started in the center field for the third consecutive day since his defense impressed the coaching staff. … Jason Vargas will make his second start on Saturday with clbad A Brooklyn. … Zack Wheeler (2-6, 4.42 ERA) starts Saturday. … Robert Gsellman made his fourth save by recording the last six outings.
