Benedicto González, FARC congressman, said on his Twitter account that "Jesús Santrich" was wounded inside the La Picota prison in Bogotá and had not received medical treatment.

According to González, the former guerrilla reportedly raped the wound and would not have received medical treatment.

For his part, Gustavo Gallardo, Santrich's lawyer, also released the information. "What we do know is that he is seriously injured, so far we do not have much data, only that he is injured and we hope that some authorities will inform us of his health, "he said in an interview with RCN Radio.

Recently, the Special Court for Peace decided to order his release and not extradition to the United States while he was under investigation for a crime of drug traffic.

The Attorney General of the Nation, Fernando Carrillo, said that a commission was already inside the penitentiary to deal with the case. "We are aware of any anomaly that arises to ensure that attention is given to the right procedure," he said.

Carrillo also said that he did not consider internal unrest as a starting point for solving the Santrich judicial process.
