Joe Biden left climate summit before Alberto Fernández spoke

The President of the United States did not listen live to Alberto Fernández’s speech at the climate summit organized by the UN to commemorate Earth Day and raise awareness of the challenges facing the planet.

In his role as host of the gathering of world leaders, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken anticipated that Joe Biden was to leave for a few minutes.

“Mr. Speaker, I know you have to leave for a moment, but we hope you can join again.He predicted.

Biden spoke up and explained, “Sorry, I have to retire, I’ll be back in a moment, I see we’re at a very encouraging start and we’re making a lot of progress; Can’t wait to see the rest of the summit unfold“.

Alberto Fernández was a privileged witness of the scene and was recorded in the official broadcast. The face of the Argentine president was in the foreground of the screens as the North American leader rose to fill his agenda.

The summit began at 9 a.m. with a speech by the President of the United States. Biden listened to presentations from China, India, Great Britain, Canada, Bangladesh, Germany, France, Russia, South Korea, Indonesia, South Africa, Italy and the Mashall Islands, and at 10:37 a.m. he rose. He returned at 11:50 a.m.

Alberto Fernández is virtually participating with 40 other leaders in the “Leaders Climate Summit” hosted by the United States as part of International Mother Earth Day. One of the main exhibitors of the event is Pope Francis.

The activity, which will take place between today and tomorrow, aims to advance strategies to limit the increase in global temperature, within the parameter of 1.5 degrees Celsius.

Fernández presented Argentina’s position during the first session, titled “Raising our climate ambition”.

The event was opened by United States President Joseph Biden, United States Vice President Kamala Harris, and UN Secretary General António Guterres.
