Joe Biden visits New York after Hurricane Ida disaster | Assess the damage in this state and in New Jersey

US President Joe Biden will visit New York and New Jersey to assess the damage caused by Storm Ida. He will make the trip next Tuesday, as announced by the White House.

The president will be in Manville, New Jersey, and the New York borough of Queens, according to a statement.

The devastating flooding last Wednesday night, which resulted from the passage of Storm Ida, left 47 people dead in New York and surrounding areas.

Biden was in Louisiana on Friday, the first U.S. state Ida made landfall, causing severe damage.

There, he called for national unity to fight climate change, which he identified as the cause of increasingly frequent extreme events.

The Democratic president also took the opportunity to praise the merits of his gigantic investment programs, especially in infrastructure, which have yet to be approved by Congress.
