Democratic White House candidate Joe Biden said on Tuesday he believed he would win the election as the recount went on, in an intervention from the Chase Center in Wilmington, Delaware.

“We think we’ll be the winners when all the votes are counted,” said Biden, who leads US President Donald Trump by 248 delegates to 214 in the Electoral College, according to projections by mainstream US media.

He later added that “no one will take democracy away from the Americans” as the vote count progresses in the election, in an intervention from the Chase Center in Wilmington, Delaware.

“No one is going to take our democracy away from us, now or ever,” said Biden, who leads US President Donald Trump by 248 delegates to 214 in the Electoral College, according to projections by mainstream US media.

He reiterated that he was not declaring himself the winner of the election, he was convinced that at the end of the exam he will have the votes to reach the White House.

“I am not declaring victory, but I believe that when all the votes are counted we will win,” said the candidate from his electoral bunker in Delaware, adding: “I am convinced that we will be victorious.”
