From an unknown location, the acting president recorded a video in which he called the protesters to return to the streets tomorrow, May 1 (International Labor Day), to keep up the pressure on dictator Nicolás Maduro .

"Maduro has neither the support nor the respect of the armed forces (…) We see ourselves in the streets, it is our territory"announced the opposition leader.

In this line, he sent a message to the army: "The call to the armed forces is then to continue to progress in the freedom of operation."

On Tuesday around 6 am local time, Guaidó, accompanied by a group of soldiers, and Leopoldo Lopez announced the start of the final phase of "Operation Freedom" from La Carlota air base, at Caracas.

However, the interim president acknowledged that he still needed the support of more men in uniform to bring down the dictatorship: "We know that they must be more numerous, that we must continue to press and that we can get a change in Venezuela."

"We will recognize the efforts and sacrifices of our armed forces, their process and their role in the transition, in the recovery of Venezuela," he said.

In his message, Guaidó also thanked the countries of the international community "for their resolute support". During the day, much of the region, with Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru and Ecuador in the lead, They celebrated the initiative of the acting president and the release of Leopoldo López.

He stressed that pressures and demonstrations "generate results", he asked to support the mobilizations.

Faced with the accusations of the dictatorship that it was today a coup attempt against Maduro, Guaidó said: "In Venezuela, there is no possibility of a coup today, unless you want me arrested."

About the dictator, who barely spoke Tuesday at noon with a tweet, said: "It is a tyrant who locks himself in four walls for fear of facing our people."
