Today, the government's deputies have obtained the necessary majority to sanction the provincial law that allows the collection of insurance for foreigners requiring medical care in hospitals and health centers of Jujuy.

Law 6116 adopted this Wednesday evening in the local Legislature aims to establish the applicable legal regime to ensure the provision of provincial public health service to foreigners who remain temporarily in the province.

The legislation empowers the executive branch to establish, by regulation, the authorizations, modalities, clbadifications and compensation values ​​of provincial health insurance benefits for nationals of other countries who have not paid tax contributions for cover the services provided by the State. .

In this context for the legislator of the Union, Luciano Rivas, "more than 90% of Jujeños expected this law, because it is an equality law", he added, adding that it was a question of 'a constitutional norm', Magna Carta of the province.

In the same vein, the official deputy Marcelo Nasif defended Governor Gerardo Morales and recalled that "in 2007, 193,000 Bolivian immigrants entered the borders of Jujuy and Salta, which were mainly settled in this province ".

On the other hand, opposition MPs agreed that the law was unconstitutional, regressive, claiming that the law was one of the "biggest newspapers in Jujuy's legislature".

When rejecting the normative controversy, Juan Manuel Esquivel, MP for the Citizen Unit, said that the problem "must be resolved diplomatically" and badured that "the economic impact of health care provided to foreigners is zero since only 5% of the medical attention is to foreigners in Jujuy ".
