Finance Minister Hernán Lacunza will visit "at the end of the month" in Washington to meet with representatives of the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), while preparing the agenda for his meeting with representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

This was anticipated Monday by official sources in Telam, who said that Mr. Lacunza "is moving, but we are finalizing the program".

In recent days, the government has received about US $ 600 million from various international credit agencies for the development of infrastructure works in the province of Buenos Aires and for the improvement of roads and hospitals.

The Ministry of Finance said over the weekend that gross debt increased by US $ 10 million at the end of the second quarter of this year to US $ 337,267 million, thanks to greater IMF credibility and reduction of liabilities to the Central Bank.

Among the most notable changes, the debt contracted from the IMF rose from US $ 14,911 million in the middle of last year to US $ 38,940 million.

The first agreement was signed on June 7th but, for lack of implementation, it had to be renegotiated twice.
