Lavagna announced in March his candidacy for the presidency

There is no longer any doubt: Roberto Lavagna, Minister of Economy of former President Eduardo Duhalde, will announce his candidacy for the presidency in March. This was pbaded on to El Día by one of his relatives.

Lavagna has become an attractive figure, in a polarized political scenario in recent years between Macrismo and Kirchnerism.

Last year, Duhalde had declared that he was "the best candidate" in the October Peronist elections. Soon, other voices were added to him, even outside the Peronism that spoke of his candidacy for the presidency.

The national Senator of PJ Miguel Pichetto and the governor of Santa Fe, the Socialist Miguel Lifschitz, met him in the spa town of Pinamar.

From socialism, they see his name with good eyes and believe that it is possible to extend the alliance with other "progressive" sectors such as those led by Margarita Stolbizer and Ricardo Alfonsin .

In the environment of Lavagna, they say that the former minister "is firm in his decision," but that he prefers to keep himself in order not to exhaust his figure.

A few days earlier, references from Citizen Unit appeared to criticize his possible application to the age of the economist.

But Lavagna, who turns 77 on March 24, says he feels good and wants to be president.
