As part of EDELAP's new operations to control and detect illegal electricity consumption, a direct three-phase connection has been identified in the famous glacier and electric fraud maneuvers in various gastronomic venues in the region.

The glacier which was directly connected to the network corresponds to the GRIDO chain located in Montevideo and 27, while irregularities were detected in the connections of the bakery of 18 and 33 years, in a restaurant of 58 between 11 and 12, in a beauty salon located at 122 between 66 and 67, in an antenna of a local radio located in a building of Avenida Arana and 1, at Villa Elisa, and in two other radio antennas located in 185 and 72 and 185 between 74 and 75.

In addition, during a night operation last weekend, illegal contacts were discovered in the restaurant of 7 and 164, in the funeral home of Montevideo and 169 and in the still life of 9 between 160 and 161, among others

The company reported that the operations consist of controlling and detecting electric frauds that can be committed by tampering with meters or illegal connections allowing illegal consumption of electricity, maneuvers constituting criminal offenses punishable by law.

In all cases, the corresponding minutes are drawn up and the tasks of disconnecting precarious, clandestine and dangerous installations which represent a high electrical risk situation on public roads are carried out.
