Minister Restrepo with President Ivan Duque, began the presentation of this new project by insisting on the fact that it is an initiative in favor of the most vulnerable in the country, in which various institutions, representatives of public finances, former ministers of state, took part, universities and research centers, but also with mayors and governors who express their concerns and concerns regarding a social investment project.
The minister also added that the first major consensus they reached was to expand the solidarity income program. “We have found the urgent need to provide an answer to many families, several of them are women heads of household, who represent more than 60% of the beneficiaries of this Solidarity Income program and have pointed out to us the urgency. , the need to have continuity for a period of time of this program “said Restrepo.
Another point of the reform concerns entrepreneurs who have requested aid from micro and small enterprises. “They stressed the need for an additional resource, a subsidy that allows them to meet their liquidity needs because they are still affected by the impact of the pandemic (…) but there are also a lot of natural persons who have a commercial activity which starts with two employees and who also need an answer “, said the Minister of Finance.
The reform also includes programs for the country’s youth. The official assured that there would be incentives for companies that hire young people to secure their entry into the world of work, but also announced that there would be a tuition-free grant for students to enter the workforce. free public higher education.
The minister indicated that 40% of the perception of the tax reform will have as sources an austerity policy and collection for the fight against tax evasion.
