The Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the National University of Tucumán organizes the International Congress of Education and Policy on the path of new humanism as part of its 80th anniversary, in the presence of the prize winner Nobel Peace Prize, Adolfo Perez Esquivel and has planned the delivery of the doctorate Honoris Causa to the pedagogue and former national deputy Adriana Puiggrós.

Through this congress, the faculty seeks to rethink its foundation by badyzing the various processes experienced by the UNT, the Tucumán society in particular and the country in general. This context, which is proposed in the series of discussions that began today and will continue until Friday, is to find the values ​​of freedom, autonomy, tolerance, recognition of diversity, democratization of knowledge and culture and the resignification of rights. reformist values ​​which they always consider to be present both in the university system and in the Argentine university system.

The three days will include a series of lectures and cultural activities that will develop at the headquarters the faculty located in the 9 de Julio Park of the capital Tucumán. The intention is that these meetings be a debate on education and popular knowledge; languages, literatures and cultural configurations; philosophical thought, art and belief systems; scientific knowledge in the fields of social sciences and humanities; territory, environment, state and society; and communication, identities and citizenship.

Among the speakers are also Puiggrós, Dora Barrancos, Emilio Tenti Fanfani, Graciela Morgade, Pablo Pineau and Alejandro Grimson, as well as specialists from the national universities of Buenos Aires, La Plata, Cordoba, Cuyo, Avellaneda, from Catamarca and also from universities of Chile. and Uruguay, as well as Flacso, Clacso and Unicef.
