Macri inaugurates a Iguazu-Madrid flight and a binational crossing with Paraguay – Telam

President Mauricio Macri will lead today the presentation of a new international air link connecting Puerto Iguazú, to Misiones, Madrid, Spain, then, with his Paraguayan counterpart, Mario Benítez, will leave the border crossing between the Ituzaingó city, in Corrientes, with the city of Ayolas, in the neighboring country.

At 11 years old, the head of state accompanied by the governor of Misiones, Hugo Pbadalacqua, and other authorities will receive at the international airport of Puerto Iguazú the inaugural flight of Air Europa, which will connect this city to Madrid.

It is a flight of great economic importance because of the number of Spanish and European tourists who will arrive in order to know the falls, one of the seven wonders of the world, as well as its various tours .

The baptism flight will arrive with the CEO of Air Europa, María José Hidalgo; the ambbadador of Argentina in Spain and former governor of Misiones, Ramón Puerta; the CEO of Aeropuertos Argentina 2000, Matías Patanian; the Minister of Tourism of the Nation, Gustavo Santos, and other personalities.

The airline will operate two weekly frequencies with Airbus A330-200s until mid-October, then use a Boeing 787. It has been reported that this new route would bring the world closer to Argentina and that in nine hours international tourists could reach Iguazu. via Madrid after 20 years.

Macri then plans to meet Yacyretá with his Paraguayan couple, Mario Abdo Benítez, in order to inaugurate the international border crossing between Ituzaingó and Ayolas.
