Macri pays tribute to Ho Chi Minh, leader of the socialist revolution, begins his activity in Vietnam

The ceremony was simple and respectful and took place in the mausoleum where rest the embalmed remains of the Vietnamese leader.

Macri arrived last night in the Vietnamese capital, shortly after 23:00 local time (13:00, Argentine time) on a flight from Mumbai, the last leg of his visit to India. Ho Chi Minh died in September 1969, a victim of tuberculosis, years before the end of the long war against the United States.

In Vietnam, the image of Ho Chi Minh is venerated in different public places, buildings and, moreover, it appears in the official currency banknotes, the dong.

Macri directed the laying of a wreath and then entered the mausoleum to pay homage.

In addition, he participated, alongside Awada, in a tribute to the Monument to the National Heroes and Martyrs of Vietnam, just like the style reserved for heads of state visiting Hanoi.

After that, he left for the presidential palace, where he was received with honors by President Nguyen Phu Trong, who has held this position since last year.

In the palace, the Vietnamese and Argentinian delegations met to badyze different agreements.
