The party said that in the first week of August, “only between 500,000 and 600,000 Venezuelans received a single dose of Sputnik V and are waiting for the second to be fully vaccinated, which poses a great risk before ‘arrival of the delta variant “.

Last Friday, the NGO also revealed the deaths of 14 other health workers in the Caribbean country due to the coronavirus, bringing the total number of health workers who have died from the disease to 736. Among the last 14 deaths are nine surgeons, two nurses, a radiologist and a community general practitioner.

Likewise, Venezuela is still awaiting the arrival of just over six million anticovid vaccines from the Covax mechanism, which is coordinated by the World Health Organization (WHO), as President Nicolás Maduro recently stated. .
