Massacre in the United States: at least 12 dead after a shootout at a Virginia Civic Center

The episode began at 4 pm this Friday (US time) when an employee of the municipality entered the armed building 2 of the local government headquarters and "open fire indiscriminately against the victims", as confirmed by James Cervera, chief of the Virginia Beach Police, at a press conference.

following there was a confrontation between the police and the shooter spread over several floors of the government building, ABC News. The shooter's motivation has not yet been determined and his identity has not been confirmed.

Cervera confirmed the shooter's death and added that one of the injured is a police officer who intervened in the operation to arrest him. Five victims are admitted to the Virginia Beach General Hospital and a sixth is transferred by helicopter to the Norfolk Sentara Medical Center.
