Mattress Factory Caught Filling Products With Used Chinstrap | the Chronicle

Indian police shut down mattress factory for using used chin straps as fillers for their products instead of using cotton or other material for it. In the operation they deployed on the spot they found a large accumulation of disposable hygienic material. The incident took place in the town of Jalgaon, Maharashtra.

In the factory they removed a mattress stuffed with chin straps, after that, officers burned the used masks following prevention protocols.

Authorities They filed a complaint against the owner of the factory and opened an investigation to determine if other people were involved in this deception.

Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, in India, they increased the production of disposable masks which, before the coronavirus, was 15 million units per day.

Not only the complications at the health and economic level, but at the residual level, the management system for them has worsened. Between June and September 2020, they generated more than 18,000 tonnes of biomedical waste linked to the coronavirus, according to official figures.
