The President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, joined the displays of regret for the death of the clown Ricardo González “Cepillín”.

On his Twitter account, the Mexican president shared an excerpt from the meeting he had with Cepillín at an airport in Mexico in 2019.

“My condolences to the Cepillín family, leader of girls and boys entertainment. Rest in peace. This fragment comes from a meeting at the airport in 2019, ”wrote AMLO on its social network.

“Let me hug you”, the president told Cepillín. “I love you too. Thank you very much for what you have always done and for others, may you do very well.”

While posing for the camera, the president said to Cepillín’s son, who was filming the meeting: “you scratched each other with that father you have.”

The president was not the only condolences linked to the death of Ricardo González. Home Secretary Olga Sánchez Cordero wrote on her Twitter account: “I express my condolences to the family of Ricardo González Gutiérrez, Cepillín, a beloved figure in Mexican popular culture.”

Actress and singer Verónica Castro shared a photo of the remembrance on her social media to express her pain.

Castro shared with his followers an image from his youth in which he posed with Cepillín, who was carrying Cristian Castro, then a child.

“We all have fond memories of you and now we are joined by the pain of your departure, RIP, dear friend,” the Mexican star wrote.

Verónica’s publication was immediately filled with messages also deploring the death of the famous clown, which occurred on the morning of Monday, March 8.

Singer Yuri wrote “Beautiful photo friend, we will always remember her”. The singer had already posted a farewell message on her Twitter account. “Goodbye @cepillintv I will never forget you, one day you put words of encouragement in my ear and food on my table … a few years ago I had the privilege of thank you in life, in front of your people and your family Fly High Clown on TV!“.

Cepillín’s death was confirmed on Monday by his son, who in an interview with Gustavo Adolfo Infante said: “I would like to give you a good prognosis, but they just told me that my father has just passed away. (…) He was a very strong person; a warrior”.

The health of the famous clown had already sounded the alarm for a few days when it was learned that he had been hospitalized.

Shortly after, it emerged that Cepillín had undergone spine surgery that lasted seven hours and it was precisely during this intervention that the specialists detected cancer.

“When the hospital does the operation, they see cancerous tissue; that is, he has lymphoma. So that lowered my dad’s immune system and for that reason they had to put him in intensive care, ”his son told the media after the clown’s health reactivated alarms when he learned his condition was sore. ‘was deteriorated.

“I don’t want it to happen to me that my legs disobey me, that Alzheimer’s disease … I don’t want that to happen to me”, he commented in an interview with Yordi Rosado in July of last year.
