The Chilean Yolande Fernandez was one of the most important people in the history of Mcdonalds and fans of the brand have expressed their pain for his departure. Yolanda grew up in Guatemala, where she moved with her family in 1956, the year her father was appointed ambassador to that country.

He was 19 at the time. 21 years ago, in 1974, he founded the first Mcdonalds from Guatemala. Four years later, in 1978, he created the Happy Meal that the company uses around the world. He became president of Mcdonalds Guatemala and has been recognized by the company for its contribution to the classic children’s menu.
