McDonald's happy little box is evolving and will offer more nutritious options to make a positive impact on communities.

As reported by Arcos Dorados, McDonald's largest independent franchise in the world, the Happy Box will include more fruits and vegetables; and less fat, sodium and added sugar at all McDonald's stores in Argentina

Features include better nutrition with less than 600 calories and 20% less total fat, 14% less saturated fat, 20% less sodium, and 78% less added sugars.

Since 2011, the company has made changes to improve nutritional balance at Cajita Feliz. This makes it the first fast-food chain to lead this type of initiative, making a difference and leveraging its size to provide families with the foods that people prefer to be delicious, balanced and always fun.

In recent years, new flavors and ingredients have been added, such as yogurts, apples and cherry tomatoes.

This year, the menu turns into an even more nutritious and complete meal for less fat, no sodium and no added sugars, offering combinations including:

* Applesauce 100% without added sugar No artificial colors or flavors.

* 100% fruit juice, no added sugar, no artificial colors or flavors.

* McFiesta Jr. burger with lettuce and tomato (or customizable, just lettuce or just tomato).

This initiative has been endorsed by the President of the Argentine Heart Foundation and the leading nutrition agencies of different countries, such as the Brazilian Association of Nutrition (ABRAN), the Peruvian Nutrition Society (SOPENUT) and the Uruguayan Association of Dietitians and Nutritionists, including other institutions that support the initiative.

The nutritional changes of Cajita Feliz announced today are in harmony with the eating habits that evolve with the changes in society. Families currently have more information and that is why it is more important to feed children than in the past.
