Like what happened in 2020, the coronavirus pandemic will prevent the so-called Walk for Life 2021, Holocaust Remembrance Day. So, The traditional event that has been held for 33 years will be developed virtually through different events and activities: the focus of the current edition will be medicine during this period.

The educational program brings people from all over the world to Poland and Israel every year for decades with the aim of studying the history of the Holocaust and examining the roots of prejudice, intolerance and hatred.

Founded in 1988 and with the two clear objectives of combating anti-Semitism and Holocaust denial and enabling survivors to tell their stories in the places where they happened, Until its last face-to-face edition (2019), the March of Life brought together no less than 260,000 students and adults from 52 countries. Argentina is one of the nations that make up the program, in which it has participated since 1992.

Traditionally, the March of Life connected the three kilometers that separated the concentration camps of Auschwitz and Birkenau, in commemoration of one of the so-called “death marches”, led by Holocaust prisoners between concentration camps. Auschwitz and Auschwitz-Birkenau.

As the traditional march could not be done in person, the authorities decided to carry out various activities and actions to question citizens and keep alive the memory of the horror suffered by the Jewish community during the Holocaust.

This is why we assume the responsibility of educating what the Shoah was with various actions, of reaching the new generations with a message that mobilizes them, challenges them and allows them to reflect on the past., but also on the present and the future ”, declared the authorities of the March for Life in Argentina in an official press release.

For months and over the next few days, the organization of the event organized a global plaque project, in which every surfer who enters the web Never means never can leave writing a message dedicated to healthcare professionals who have worked throughout the last year in different parts of the world in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. These messages will be transferred to virtual boards, then messages will be posted on the Birkenau railway tracks.

Tuesday at 6.30 p.m. there will be a virtual meeting with Mario sinay titled:Jewish medicine during the Shoah, ethical dilemmas of Jewish doctors ”. As reported by the organizers themselves, medicine during the Holocaust will be the theme of this edition of the event. There, they will inquire about the work that the Jewish doctors had to do inside the concentration camps.

On Wednesday April 7 there will be two events. On the one hand, there will be an educational symposium Learn, where you will reflect on the perseverance and courage of the health professionals who worked during the Shoah. The meeting will be at 8 p.m. Argentinian.

At 9 p.m. on the same Wednesday, the main event of the March for Argentine Life, called “Yom Hashoá of the walk for life”.

Likewise, on Thursday, April 8 at 11 a.m. (Argentine time), the world ceremony of Yom Hashoá will be held. During the event, a video with icons of the famous march will be shown, such as the breath of the shofar at the entrance to Auschwitz. TInternational leaders will also attend the event, such as Israeli President Reuven Rivlin, Holocaust survivors and prominent doctors who were on the front lines..

The closing will take place on Thursday, April 15 at 10 p.m. Argentina with the worldwide celebration of Iom Haatzmaut, in commemoration of 73 years of the creation of the State of Israel. The famous Catalan journalist is expected to participate in this event. Pilar rahola.

This year’s event will also feature images and videos from celebrations from the first March for Life to the present day. There will also be a virtual tree plantation and an emotional version of Hatikva, the song sung in Auschwitz, performed by representatives from different parts of the world.
