Mendocino breaks "slow smoke" record and heads to World Cup in Croatia

Argentine cigar sommelier Alberto Ianardi won the first place in an international qualifying competition for the Slow Smoke World Cigar Championship in Croatia next September.

Ianardi, with a performance of 2 hours and 6 minutes, broke a new record and won the Procigar festival, held every year in the Dominican Republic, and brings together cigar enthusiasts from around the world.

By achieving this success, he managed to qualify for the Croatian final, where he will have the chance to compete for the world title of the specialty.

The World Cigar Championship was founded in 2010 by Marko Bilic, president and founder of the Cigar Club Mareva in Split, Croatia.

The championship is not just a competition where people have to smoke as much as possible a cigar handmade, the size of Marevas, but a gathering of people linked by the same pbadion: cigars and their mysticism.

Ianardi has his cigar humidor in Contractor's House, a thematic restaurant located in Chacras de Coria, a town located about 20 kilometers from the capital Mendoza.
