US Foreign Minister Mike Pompeo on Saturday appealed directly to Venezuelan citizens that they stand up against President Nicolás Maduro, saying "the moment of transition is now."
"The moment of transition is now: no more hunger, no more children without drugs, no more repression, the United States remains firmly at your side in your struggle", Said Pompeo to Venezuelans, after the failed military uprising last Tuesday.
"You can ensure that your institutions, your army and your leaders respect the highest standards and demand the return of democracy," said Pompeo in a video posted on Twitter, ending in Spanish: "We are with you."
