Nine News Queensland viewers were surprised when Australian meteorologist Luke Bradnam left the live mobile he was on to retrieve a man’s body.

The moment went viral and began when Brandnam was broadcasting live from one of the beaches on the Gold Coast.

The meteorologist reported the dangerous waves in this area when, suddenly, he began to take off his suit and jumped into the water without thinking.

“I immediately stripped naked and left with the boogie boarder (person who uses a small board to catch the waves) to help the person in difficulty,” Bradnam explained.

“In the heat of the moment, I thought he was someone’s son and we had to do it,” he added.

Beyond the efforts of the meteorologist, when he managed to reach the man, he realized that the person was dead.

“It became evident that there was a body floating in the water,” the meteorologist continued to explain.

“We were able to secure the body and start crossing a strip between the waves, back to shore,” he added.

Minutes later, Bradnam explained that the body belonged to a 30-year-old British citizen who had gone missing the night before on a beach 5.7 kilometers from the find.
