Mexico encourages preventive treatment to prevent new cases of HIV

National and state organizations in Mexico will introduce a national strategy for the prevention of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) free application called PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis).

This preventive treatment consists of taking one tablet daily with two antiretroviral drugs. This project, ImPrEP México will also badess the national reality among people who are at risk of contracting HIV, such as having unprotected bad, prostitutes, drugs, or in the case of HIV-positive couples. The PrEP project was recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2015, Mexico will start implementing it this year. At present, only 1% of the country's population can access this preventive medicine because its price is about 10,000 pesos a month, as it is a chronic treatment for prevention .
