According to Pablo Salucci, geographer of the Catholic University, the newspaper La Tercera, these are replicas of the main event, "which correspond to the position of the plate after the break".

Gabriel Gonzalez, geologist and deputy director of CIGIDEN and the Catholic University of the North, said at the same time that the 6.6 to 6.7 earthquake was a subduction earthquake, located just north of the quake. of Maule land in 2010.
