More than 60 Venezuelan soldiers have deserted today and fled to Bogotá – Telam

Colombian Foreign Minister Carlos Holmes Trujillo confirmed that more than 60 members of the Venezuelan military and security forces had defected today and sought refuge in Colombia.

"Today, more than 60 soldiers, including several officers, arrived unarmed in Colombian territory and sought refuge in Colombia, demonstrating the loss of confidence with Nicolás Maduro's usurper regime," Trujillo told reporters. Cúcuta press, according to Efe.

The desertions, he said, "occurred in the departments of Norte de Santander and Arauca during the day of today".

Migration Colombia welcomed more than 60 members of the various armed forces of Venezuela. Within the group, there are two women from the Bolivarian National Police.

"Only in northern Santander, 53 members of the Venezuelan armed forces fled to Colombia, including members of the National Guard, the Navy, the Bolivarian National Police and special forces." – FAES, "reported Migración Colombia.
