In strange circumstances, six young people disappeared after traveling by truck to Cartagena

On February 25, six young people left the municipality of Anserma (Caldas) for Cartagena to see the sea. However, they never reached their destination. And it was only until March 8 that one of them was known, Mauricio Ramírez Osorio, 21, found last Sunday, on a farm in the area known as Puerto Belgium, a rural area in the municipality of Cáceres.

“We found Mauricio, he is in good health, with a bit of a change of scenery, because he does not know the neighborhood, we found him in a house, on a farm, in a rural area of the municipality of Cáceres”, the police commander announced on Blu Radio Antioquia, Colonel Jorge Miguel Cabra Díaz.

The man in the uniform also pointed out that, based on what the young man said, they were intercepted by the organized armed group (Gao) “ Los Caparros ”: “It should be noted that these members of the criminal group tell them that they are recruited and in the same way that they will receive a payment in the amount of $ 1,000,000. and after that they are taken to the rural area ”.

Well, Mónica Álvarez, the mother of one of the youngsters (Andrés Fernando Valencia, 15), told El Tiempo: “It’s a very hard wait, several days ago without knowing anything. When we realized that one appeared, it gave us happiness for his family, but, at the same time, it increased our anxiety ”.

Álvarez also told the Bogota newspaper that although the authorities are doing everything possible to find the whereabouts of the young people, they hope that the President of the Republic, Ivan Duque, comment on the subject:

“We know the police are looking for them and are on standby, but it has been two weeks since they left the house and the president has not spoken.”

Mónica Álvarez also said that what united her son (who was in eighth grade at school) with the other young people was his love for Atlético Nacional, and that she had already traveled with some of them to Medellín for watch him play. And, once again, he appealed to the Head of State.

“On behalf of all families, I ask you to keep looking for them, not to be discouraged. I also ask the president to speak; they, having a weapon on their head, could accept anything “, He mentioned El Tiempo, in reference to what was apparently a possible recruitment from “Los Caparros”.

The reason why the illegal structure dedicated to drug trafficking has left Mauricio Ramírez Osorio, which the authorities have discovered, is a back operation, to which he was subjected years ago: it is difficult for him to do long walks, spending a lot of time standing or carrying a lot of weight; for which his captors would have decided to leave him abandoned.

Intermittent calls to families

Relatives said that on Friday, February 26, the boys arrived in Valdivia and reported with them. Milena Ramírez, mother of José David, 15, and Mauricio’s sister, 21, said the calls had been strange.

“They called intermittently, with very strange calls that sounded like they were supposed to be working, but apparently they are being held there,” the woman said.

The Alert Paisa portal said two of them have contacted their parents and apparently they are threatened. “In the code, one of them said: “Mom don’t worry, I’ll go to work. Deep down, an adult voice warned him that he couldn’t tell where he was. He hung up and immediately the other called. They said the same version, because they had been recruited, ”they assured.
