Netherlands: a man was charged with kidnapping a family who lived 9 years isolated from the world

In the Netherlands, prosecutors on Wednesday announced charges against a 58-year-old man arrested for finding an isolated family in the world for nine years.

Prosecutors said on Twitter that the man, whose identity has not been revealed, is suspected of being involved in "a deprivation of liberty and an attack on the health of 39; others ".

The person must appear before an examining magistrate on Thursday. The prosecution has not given more details.

Six family members were discovered this week in "makeshift chambers" located on a farm in Ruinerwold, in the east of rural Holland, said Mayor Roger de Groot.

They were discovered after one of the family members escaped and alerted of the situation. Unconfirmed information indicates that the family has withdrawn from society for fear of the end of the world.
