The statue, called "Lady Liberty", is the work of a 32-year-old Hong Kong artist. She shows a protester with a gas mask, glasses and a helmet. The statue had already been worn by protesters during several demonstrations this summer.

"A team of 16 professional mountaineers transported it in two parts and 16 others with various equipment and supplies," said the artist, who declined to give his last name.
