The tweet of the American president quickly became the target of critics on a global scale. The publication remained on his profile for half an hour. Then he was eliminated and replaced by another tweet where he appeared corrected the number of victims who then reached 138 people.

Many people pointed out that 138 million people, six times more than the total population of the country. According to official statistics of the Government of Sri Lanka, the country has 21.67 million inhabitants in 2018.

This is not the first time Trump writes tweets with errors and attracts the attention of network users.

Six detonations took place this Sunday almost simultaneously in three churches and three luxury hotels in the capital, Colombo, and in the cities of Negombo and Batticaloa. A few hours later, there were two more explosions, in the same Colombo and in the city of Dematagoda. It is estimated that at least 207 people died and more than 450 were injured.
